Event Information

ICF Australasia NSW Chapter are thrilled to invite you to attend the May event in our 2024 Coaches Circle Series.

Finding what works and doing more of it: The power of Solution Focus coaching

A Solution Focus (SF) approach to Coaching is a little different to many other forms of coaching models being used. One of the key differences is the coaching client is the expert in their world and your role as coach is to have a “beginners mind” and find the useful change and amplify it! As one SF practitioner and key consultant who bought SF out of the therapy world into organisations in the 1990s said “there is no need to go deep, what we do is thicken the surface and take an interactional view, the action is in the interaction”.

Come and experience the power of Solution Focus through playing The Mindsetter Game with Annette Gray. You will experience in action what Solution Focus Coaching looks like by playing a game working on your own goal. You will have the opportunity to share your experience and insights, and then discuss the Solution Focus principles that make this form of coaching so accessible. Not only for coaches but how leaders and managers can use this approach in their everyday conversations.

About our NSW Coaches Circle Series

Our NSW Coaches Circle Series offer monthly online calls for our NSW members. These are structured and intentional meetings allowing us to come together to learn and reflect in-depth on specific topics.

These Coaches Circle events are:

  • An opportunity to meet and connect with other coaches
  • A chance to meet someone new
  • Learn new things and apply to your coaching business
  • Expand perspective, knowledge and grow in your coaching capacity
  • An opportunity to find an Accountability Partner

Please note that these are free for members, and will be limited to 30 online participants to retain an intimate atmosphere. They will be held via Zoom, and your connection details will be provided in the confirmation email upon completing registration.

Stay tuned across the ICF Australasia events page to keep abreast of the entire 2024 Coaches Circle event series!

Event Program

Welcome and Icebreaker – 15 min:

We will begin with a warm welcome and introduction to set the tone for the event. Together, we’ll explore the objectives and expectations, creating a shared sense of purpose. We’ll also each have the chance to introduce ourselves and what we’re hoping to get out of today’s event.

Keynote Presentation – 15 min:

A Solution Focus (SF) approach to Coaching is a little different to many other forms of coaching models being used. One of the key differences is the coaching client is the expert in their world and your role as coach is to have a “beginners mind” and find the useful change and amplify it! Discussion / Q&A – 55 min:

Following the presentation, we’ll move into short breakout rooms to encourage mingling and sharing insights and questions. We’ll then return to the main room and open the floor for interactive participatory discussions and a lively Q&A session involving all present. Your participation is vital as we encourage open dialogue and exchange of ideas among attendees. Feel free to ask questions, share experiences, and gain inspiration from your fellow coaches.

We’ll experience the power of Solution Focus through playing The Mindsetter Game with Annette Gray. You will experience in action what Solution Focus Coaching looks like by playing a game working on your own goal. Networking and Collaboration:

Beyond the scheduled agenda, the Coaches Circle provides an excellent opportunity for networking and fostering new collaborations. Connect with like-minded professionals, exchange contact information, and explore potential partnerships within the coaching community.

Presenter

Annette Gray, PCC

Our May NSW Coaches Circle event for 2024 is focused on solution focused coaching, with  Annette Gray. Annette is an experienced and insightful coach, facilitator, coach supervisor and speaker on Solution Focus coaching and mentoring. Annette came across Solution Focus Approach in 2011 and was intrigued by the simplicity of the approach and how quickly change happened from it. In her former role at Growth Coaching International (for 15 years) where she led and supported the development and growth of their 40 coaches and facilitators in Australia, New Zealand and UK, Annette helped these coaches to enhance their practice by being more Solution Focused in how they coached.

Annette established her own business in 2019, where her main work focus is in developing leaders, safety professionals and mentors in construction, infrastructure and education to have “coach like” solution focus conversations with their team that achieves change fast. Along with her tertiary qualifications she is a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF, Senior Practitioner Coach and Coach Supervisor with the EMCC. Annette has trained over 8,100 leaders in coaching and mentoring in her career and is an active member of the global association Solution Focus in Organisations (SFiO).
