Kaberi discussed her strategy of focusing on peer-to-peer coaching, using reflection and AI tools for self-development, and learning from her experiences including challenges with powerful questions and the urge to rescue clients. The session included two breakout room activities where participants explored their inner critics and reflected on their own coaching journeys. Bismillah Parvez and Tara facilitated the session, with Bismillah handling the opening and closing remarks while Tara managed technical aspects like breakout rooms and recording. The session concluded with discussions about ICF requirements, including questions about session recording timing and the timeframe for completing 100 hours. SessionStructure •Welcome and Introduction:The sessionstarted bywelcoming participants from various locations including Sydney, Auckland, and New Zealand, and establishing housekeeping rules including keeping cameras on, using the chat box for questions, and engaging in breakout room activities. oCoaching Journey:Bismillah discussed plans for future sessions, including potentially having presenters share theirowncoaching journey stories. The conversation ended with the introduction ofKaberi Bhattacharya as the evening's presenter, who will share her journey toward completing 100 coaching hours. •ICF Coaching Hours Journey:Kaberishared her journey toward achieving 100 coaching hours, highlighting key requirements, strategies, and learnings from her experience. She discussed the importance of understanding ICF guidelines, finding clients through peer coaching and social media, and setting realistic targets. Kaberi emphasised the significance of obtaining client consent for logging hours and suggested using a charity-based approach for coaching exchanges. The session included a poll to gauge participants' progress. •FirstBreakout:Inner Critic-Reflections and Insights:Participants engaged in dyad/triad group discussion ondiscuss inner critics and share insights.Kaberi shared her reflections on her coaching practice after logging 13 hours by Christmas, identifying three key patterns she noticed: an overemphasis on powerful questions, an urge to rescue clients, and a focus on providing value. She discussed how these insights led her to reframe the ICF core competencies and use tools like the 5 Whys analysis to address these patterns. Kaberi recommended two books for new coaches: "Laser-Focused Coaching" by Marion Franklin and "Coach the Person, Not the Problem" by Marcia Reynolds.
