The Australian Charter Chapter of ICF
Notes from MCC SIG Session # 1, 12 March 2026 - Hosted by Jacqui Ferris
MCC/ACTC Director Coach Development.

Summary:

This first meeting brought new attending MCCs up to speed on progress for the MCC SIG
and its link to the ICF Charter Chapter of Australasia’s strategic focus of retaining and
developing members.

The group discussed current challenges in the coaching profession, particularly the
impact of current geopolitical situation on clients and potential future business.

The breakouts focused on contracting for this SIG, [see overleaf].

Jacqui posited having a loose agenda/focus for each session, particularly when no
guest presenter is scheduled, to provide direction while maintaining flexibility for
discussion. As the ICF MCC SIG host, Jacqui will take responsibility for group liaison
prior to/post each session. She will request the support from a co-host well ahead of
time and ensure people are happy to

Jacqui [Ferris] reiterated that attendance for the full 1.5 hours is required to obtain the
available CCEUs, as is typical with ICF professional development.

The conversation ended with some action points [see overleaf] and an invitation to
those present to donate 1-2 hours during International Coach Week (May 11-17), so
other ICF members could experience what it’s like to be coached by an MCC.

This was presented as a voluntary opportunity with a process to be discussed by Jacqui
and ICF and discussed further. MCCs present were invited to share their interest/not
with Jacqui post the meeting.

MCC SIG Group Structure / Contracting / Ways of Working

The group discussed breakouts, then in plenary desired ways of working for the MCC
SIG as follows:

Some felt that sessions could be recorded, [minus breakouts] and made
available to all MCCs in the community.

Some thought sessions should not be recorded, due to potential for discussion
of sensitive topics and that recordings may go beyond the group.

Will require further / final discussion/agreement in Session #2 in April.

Jacqui shared the approach of one overseas group that uses Zoom lockout, 10
mins post start time.
