Come hone your coaching skills and strengthen your practice with fresh and provocative questions for reflection that challenge the conventional wisdom in the coaching profession.
Book clubs are a great way to explore coaching topics together. They allow for a richer discussion that includes varying perspectives as well as the opportunity to connect with other coaches.
In this virtual book club we’ll be discussing the book Positive Provocation: 25 Questions to Elevate Your Coaching Practice by Robert Biswas-Diener over 5 x 1 hour sessions. You will need to purchase your own copy of the book. Please note that if you purchase a physical copy of the book it may take a week or two to arrive.
Robert is a coaching thought leader and one of the foremost authorities on positive psychology coaching. If you’re interested, you can learn more about his work here: https://robertdiener.com/
In this book Robert invites us to take a fresh look at twenty-five core assumptions that are often left unexamined in contemporary coaching. Is coaching about solving problems or improving? What’s so great about interrupting? Can We Trust Eureka Moments? Should coaches address emotions? Should coaching be informed by science?
Each question provides us with a valuable opportunity to explore and test our own beliefs and approaches, ultimately enabling us to hone our skills and strengthen our practice.
In this session we will discuss the question from Chapter 14 of the book: Can We Trust Eureka Moments?
The session will be highly interactive with breakout room discussions and opportunities to share and connect with other coaches, so be prepared to chat and have fun.
Also note that the sessions are designed so they can be attended as a standalone, so don’t worry if you can’t make all five.
The event is from 6 – 7 pm AEDT (note daylight savings begins on 1 October) and we will hold the Zoom open for an additional 15 mins for people to connect if they would like.
Please RSVP by 13 October so I can plan out group activities appropriate for the number of attendees.
Please note: if you are an ICF member outside of Australasia you will need to contact me directly to get a member price to the event due to limitations with our website.
