ICF Webinar:
Title: Working with Resistance: Transforming Stuckness into Movement
Overview: Resistance is often viewed as something to overcome, yet attempts to push past resistance can unintentionally strengthen it. In this session, participants will explore a different perspective: resistance as a protective response that may hold important information about what is needed for change to occur.
Using a depth-oriented coaching lens, we will examine how coaches can recognise, understand, and work with resistance in a way that supports safety, awareness, and forward movement.
Participants will explore:
• A new understanding of resistance as protection rather than sabotage
• Common forms of resistance that show up in coaching conversations
• How coaches can unintentionally reinforce resistance
• The role of mindfulness, somatic awareness, and curiosity in working with resistance
• Practical approaches for supporting clients to move from stuckness to aligned action
This session will include reflection, discussion, and experiential exercises.
