In line with our commitment to providing professional development and relationship building initiatives for our coaching community, we are pleased to bring you a new initiative - the 2025 Peer Coaching “Strengthening our Coaching Community” practical sessions.
The overarching idea behind the peer coaching sessions is that by working together we accelerate our growth and amplify our impact more so than if we’re trying to go it alone.
This weekly series run through August and September 2025 will help you fast-track and deepen your coaching practice. Topics will change weekly and will focus on ICF core competencies. These sessions will allow you to practice your coaching with a peer, accumulate ‘paid’ coaching experience hours for your coaching log, and gain further CCEs to contribute to your ICF credential applications and renewals.
As an added benefit, there will be opportunities to have direct contact with other members in our coaching community. This will help strengthen your practice and network, and our coaching community and profession. It is open to all branches in the ICF Australasia region.
How do the sessions work?
In each session, we will provide a short overview of the relevant core competency. You will then be randomly assigned a coach peer for your 1:1 breakout session. You will each have an opportunity to practice your coaching for 30 minutes on a real-life scenario, as well as be given time to provide constructive feedback to each other.
Please give some thought to the topic you bring to the coaching session so you can maximise the learning and growth.
These sessions are designed as stand-alone events. You can choose to attend just one session if you feel like you need a brush up. Or attend all 8 if you’d like to maximise the opportunity!
In each session we will focus our practice on various components from the ICF Core Competency Model. These competencies form a vital part of the foundation of our coaching profession.

If you’re an emerging coach, these sessions will fast-track your confidence with the competencies. A sound understanding of the competencies is essential to the Credential process, including the ICF Credentialing Exam.
If you’re a more established coach, it’s a great refresher and an ability to go deeper with your practice. It’s also a simple way to build your networks and accumulate CEU points for your renewal. Plus, you can help accelerate the journey for others which will strengthen our profession.
Each competency is considered core and critical for any competent coach to demonstrate.
