Beyond the Traits – Real Conversations in Leadership & Coaching
We become better leaders when we learn to manage our traits — the light and the shadow.

Join us for a reflective, evidence-informed leadership session designed for coaches, leaders, and professionals who want to move beyond personality labels and learn how self-awareness and self-regulation drive real leadership effectiveness.

This interactive session explores how the same traits that help us succeed can limit us when they are overused, underused, or left unexamined — and how learning to regulate these traits creates better outcomes for ourselves, our teams, and those we coach.

From Traits to Choice: Leading Without Autopilot
Rather than “fixing” personality, this session focuses on managing intensity — recognising when a trait is serving you well, and when it starts running the show.

Through lived experience, facilitated discussion, and practical tools, participants will explore how awareness becomes choice — and how small, intentional adjustments in behaviour can improve leadership presence, ethical practice, and impact.

What You’ll Learn
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify one high-impact personal trait and recognise its light and shadow pattern
  • Understand how overuse or underuse of strengths can affect leadership effectiveness
  • Apply a simple Trait Dial process to regulate behaviour under pressure
  • Practice a brief micro-coaching conversation that converts insight into a practical growth experiment
  • Link trait self-management to ethical, credentialled coaching practice and leadership excellence

Session Experience

  • Facilitated reflection grounded in real leadership experience
  • Evidence-based concepts presented in a practical, accessible way
  • A short live coaching demonstration showing awareness → choice → action
  • Small-group discussion to safely apply insights
  • Clear alignment to ICF Core Competencies and professional coaching standards
