Dr Rick Kausman is recognised as the Australian pioneer of the person-centred approach to healthy weight management. Rick has written two books; If Not Dieting, Then What which won the Australian Food Writers Award for best nutrition writing, and Calm Eating. Both books have been released internationally. He is the creator of the healthy eating, healthy weight management web site www.ifnotdieting.com, and his other resources include the If not dieting Empowerment cards. Rick has been the Chairperson of Body Image and Health Inc. for 3 years, and a board member for 12; he has been an Executive Council member of the Australasian Society for the Study of Overweight for 9 years; and is currently a Director of the Butterfly Foundation, a Fellow of the Australian College of Psychological Medicine, and a Lifelong Fellow of the Obesity Prevention and Treatment Society. Rick is an inspiring, motivational and entertaining speaker, and he regularly speaks at corporate, medical, educational and community group conferences and seminars.

LOUISE MAHLER?Louise is a former Singer in the Vienna State Opera who ‘lost her voice’ and then found it again through her pioneering study of ‘Vocal Intelligence’. She has since gone to write a critically acclaimed PHD on the subject. Dr Mahler is now a key note speaker, corporate trainer and coach who is passionate about helping people discover their own voice of leadership. She is well known for breathing life, enthusiasm and fun into any audience, and for her ability to create great speakers and ‘persuaders’. Born in Dublin, Jim Stynes was brought from Ireland to Australia in the mid 1980s as part of a Ron Barrassi inspired program to recruit Irish footballers for the Melbourne Football Club. Described as ‘Australia’s most successful sporting experiment’, he played his first senior game in 1987 and retired 264 games later in 1998.
Off the field, Jim has devoted his life to helping Australian youth. In 1994 he co-founded Reach with film director Paul Currie. The Reach Foundation is a non-profit, non-denominational organisation committed to supporting young people. Together, Jim Stynes and Reach work with over 45,000 teenagers a year, encouraging them to discover their purpose and realise their potential in a positive and supportive learning environment. Recently in 2007 Jim received an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) for his work with youth. Reach activities include school programs, workshops, weekends away and large-scale events like ‘Heroes Days’. They also run training programs for teachers, youth professionals and parents, all of which combine group interaction with creative expression.
