The evening will be hosted by your Co-Presidents Manuela and Natalie who will share trends from the recent ICF Global survey on coaching and recent government and corporate trends for executive coaching and leadership panels.
Karen Tweedie PCC, ICF Global President, will update us on global trends in coaching and new initiatives from the ICF including credentialing and branding. Karen will give us her personal and professional perspective of coaching from her year as President.
Heather-Jane Sears will present on ‘Sustainable Leadership – Coach, Business & Community’ (a summary of the key concepts from a Synergy Global presentation at the recent ICFA Conference).

Karen Tweedie PCC has 16 years of successful experience in coaching, training, facilitating and consulting. She has worked in both the private and public sector.
Karen is a facilitation and coaching professional: she is a leader, a leadership and team coach and a trainer of coaches. She is Director of Coaching for Coachbroker Pty Ltd, a company that matches quality coaches with the corporate world. Karen comes to her role as 2009 ICF President having served as President of the International Coach Federation Australasia (2005), Secretary/Treasurer of ICF Global (2007) and President-Elect of ICF Global (2008).
An engaging presenter on all aspects of coaching, interpersonal and team communication, Karen's coaching, facilitation and training skills are based on a sound knowledge of change processes, human behaviour, communication and group dynamics.
She believes that skilled coaching and facilitation contribute to the overall improvement of insight, understanding and ability to work toward a preferred future. In addition it builds individual capacity to work constructively through conflict, which has flow-on benefits in all spheres of organisational and private life.
Heather-Jane Sears created Synergy Global, an international consultancy firm specialising in Change Leadership & Effectiveness (with coaching & action learning as two core methodologies) in 1996, after a successful career in the UK Health Service. Synergy offers tailor made solutions for organisations looking for personal & professional transitions, through encouraging people to exceed expectations, lead with integrity & have fun whilst doing it!
Over the years she has completed a range of degrees & advanced courses in International Business, Quality Improvement, Organisational Development, the Leadership of Cultural Change, Inclusive Facilitation, NLP (including Timelines & Hypnotherapy), plus Executive Coaching. She is also an active member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) – developing the Strategic Alliance Leadership Team (SALT) at Australasia & State level.
Heather-Jane’s key interests & expertise include these 5 themes:
- Vision Clarification; Executive Coaching; Values-based Leadership; Strategy Development
- Motivation & Development of Productive Cross Cultural/Functional (often Virtual) Teams
- Improving Communications, Conflict Resolution, & Personal & Organisational Effectiveness

Heather-Jane has received special recognition for leadership, innovation & business excellence from the Royal College of Nursing, the Institute of Health Service Managers, Mercury Communications, Nat West Bank & Walt Disney World. Although working across many industries, she remains committed to improving the effectiveness of public & voluntary leadership teams. In this capacity she is still helps to improve health & education services in the USA, EU & AUS. Until recently, she worked in public health, as the part-time Chief Executive of the National Sports Medicine Institute (NSMI), which promotes safer sport & exercise, from local participants, through to elite athletes.
In this latter capacity, she is proud to have contributed to London’s successful bid for the Olympics in 2012.
