The “Public Face” of Being A Coach

Friday March 5 2010

Whenever you have a conversation with anyone other than yourself, you are “public speaking”. The term is not restricted to giving formal speeches up on stage. It covers every kind of speaking and connecting situation you have with other human beings.

As a coach, you are the role-model for your practice. Being able to articulate with presence, ease and authenticity who you are, what you stand for and on behalf of your client, allows you to sit in integrity, whether with one on one, a group, audience, impromptu or prepared.

You will come to a deeper awareness of how to::

Build trust, rapport and credibility with a group which role models your unique personal and professional qualities as a coach and human being;

  • Use an anchor as a tool to stay present and as a barometer for self awareness;
  • Use public speaking as a low cost marketing strategy to promote your practice;
  • Use Cool, Calm & Connected techniques to deepen client self awareness and confidence and in particular, to “get out of their head and into their body.”

Geraldine Barkworth, a life coach turned public speaking coach, will show you how to do all of these things.

Who should attend?:

  • Coaches of all persuasion
  • HR People
  • Anyone in leadership or management roles
  • Anyone who wants to grow their practice

Who is Geraldine Barkworth?
