Spiritual Coaching - The "Ins" and "Outs"with Martin Wilson Tuesday 21 February 2012 "What is coaching, and what is it not?" and "How is it important, how does it 'fit' or 'weave' in with other coaching/coaching relationships?" Martin will answer these questions and identify typical themes that emerge in spiritual coaching. He will provide a small toolkit of spiritual coaching approaches, tips and techniques and look at tools and practices, which contribute to spiritual development or growth, often arising in a spiritual coaching context. Finally, he will provide a pointer to relevant resources available to the spiritual coach and client.
After 20 years of commercial legal practice, Martin Wilson became a professional coach in 2001 and established Selfmade Coaching. He founded the Wellington Chapter of the International Coach Federation Australasia Inc in 2004 and was its inaugural President. He was a director of the ICFA 2007–08. Martin's experience and expertise are predominantly in working with leaders, managers and professionals in the areas of work/life balance; developing leadership and personal presence; building personal foundation; converting awareness and vision into goals, actions and results; conflict resolution and communication effectiveness; developing emotional, social and spiritual intelligences; and in developing more transparent, trust based and collaborative organizations. In more recent years he has taken his coaching beyond a 'transactional' approach to coaching to one that is more 'transformational' in approach. A core component of that latter approach is his successful use of spiritual coaching practices.
